7th – 8th Grades

I am the Language Arts, Religion, Social Studies, and Science teacher for the 7th and 8th grades. I will also teach 5th and 6th science. There will be some changes this year, but I am optimistic about what lies ahead.

If your student is returning to my class, please carefully review the rules and policies, as some of these may have changed.

In my classroom, our two key themes will be respect and responsibility. I believe that successful learning comes only when presented in the proper environment. This means that every student should feel safe, respected, and appreciated while at school. It is my responsibility, as the teacher, to provide this environment for my students. I feel that each student is a unique and Godly creation and deserves to be treated as such.

In return, I expect my students to be respectful to the teachers, staff, and other students they come in contact with on a daily basis. I expect students to act in a responsible manner through their work, actions, and words. Rules are clearly posted in the classroom for students to read and review.

I have enclosed several items in the Parent Packet this year including rules and policies for my classroom. This is to keep parents informed of my expectations and the consequences that are likely if these expectations are not met. Included in this packet is a signature sheet. Please sign, date, and return this as soon as possible indicating that you have read this Parent Packet.

I look forward to working with all of the students this year and am eager to meet all of the parents as well. I expect quite a bit from my students, and I will do my best to prepare them for the future. Along the way, I hope we get to have some fun as well!
